Following the success of obtaining the completion certificate for the EPC project of Sihanoukville power transmission line in Cambodia at the end of 2021, which marked a breakthrough in the Cambodian power market, China Machine-Building International Cooperation(CMIC) continued its efforts and achieved a good start in 2022. On January 15, CMIC and Cambodia International Investment and Development Group (CIIDG) officially signed a contract for the feasibility study for the 1,200MW LNG power plant project in Cambodia. The scope of work is that CIIDG entrusts our company to conduct a detailed feasibility study on the 1,200MW LNG power plant project in Cambodia and assist CIIDG in PPA negotiations. The project has been listed as a key project in Cambodia’s power development plan. The project is located about 215 kilometers southwest of Phnom Penh, 12 kilometers from Sihanoukville International Airport, and 32 kilometers from Sihanoukville Port. After completion, it would effectively cope with the rapid economic development of Cambodia and feed the increasing electricity demand, optimize the power supply structure, and reduce the electricity import-ratio of the nation. The project will realize efficient, clean, and reliable power generation.

This contract signing also inks an opening of a new cooperation model in the Cambodian electric power market to the company. In the future, we can work with our brother companies to participate in the construction of the project as an EPC or EPC+F contractor as well. It provided an opportunity to deepen cooperation with the project owner, had laid a good foundation for the further rooting and development of SINOMACH-HE in the Cambodian market.
