On July 17, CMIC signed the EPC contract of the project 230kV Ratanakiri - Tbong Kmoum Transmission Line in Cambodia with SchneiTec Power Co., Ltd. It marked CMIC's new progress in exploring the markets of countries along "the Belt and Road Initiative".
Xiao Ping, a member of the CPC SINOMACH-HE Committee and Vice General Manager of SINOMACH-HE, and Party Secretary and Chairman of CHMC, and Sochet, as the president of SchneiTec Power Co., Ltd., attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches. Wang Weiguo, the Party Secretary and Chairman of CMIC, signed the contract with Sochet.
In his speech, Xiao congratulated the signing of the project and expressed his gratitude to SchneiTec Power Co., Ltd. and president Sochet for their support lent to CMIC. He said that he believed the project under the efforts of both sides will be successfully completed with high standards and high quality, laying a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and common development. Sochet said that the two companies had a good collaborative foundation in the past, and he was full of confidence in this project. He wished the two companies would work together to complete the project with high quality, provide safe and stable energy support for the national development of Cambodia, and contribute to deepening the pragmatic and friendly cooperation between the two countries.
The project is one of the important works for Cambodian government to strengthen the strategic initiative of east-west energy interconnection, with a total length of 233 kilometers, crossing 4 provinces in northeastern Cambodia and connecting 5 substations, which will greatly enhance the stability of the Cambodian power grid transmission after completion. And also, it has great strategic significance for the development of electricity in Cambodia.
Chen Yonglin, the Chief Financial Officer of CHMC; Xu Jia, the Vice General Manager of CHMC and General Manager of CHMC Cambodia Branch, together with relevant personnel of CHMC Cambodia Branch, CMIC Cambodia Project Department, and SchneiTec Power Co., Ltd. attended the signing ceremony.
