On March 25, the Development of Grid Substation and Transmission Line Project in Sihanouk Ville of Cambodia (the Sihanoukville Project) undertaken by CMIC was successfully put into operation.

The project includes a 230kV transmission line, a 115kV transmission line, a 115kV underground cable, two new 115kV GIS substations and a 230kV AIS expansion station. Since the project passed the employer's acceptance on March 12, the project team has actively communicated with the employer, deployed the electrification plan in advance, and refined the electrification process to ensure the smooth progress of the electrification.

On March 24, under the joint witness of Dr.Praing Chulasa, the Vice President of the Electricite Du Cambodge (hereinafter referred to as ‘EDC’) and Xu Jia, the Deputy General Manager of CHMC and General Manager of the Cambodia Branch, the 230kV expansion station was opened via the 230kV transmission line and the 115kV transmission line successfully electrified to the newly built 115kV GIS2 substation; on March 25, the GIS2 substation was successfully electrified via the 115kV underground cable to the newly built 115kV GIS3 substation. These events marked the successful completion of the electrification task of the project at one time. EDC Vice President Dr.Praing Chulasa expressed full recognition and high praise for the successful completion of the project. He said that in the face of the severe COVID-19 epidemic and many difficulties, it was commendable that the project department was still able to complete the project construction on schedule with high efficiency and high quality. He expressed his admiration for the project department's spirit: “not flinching in face of difficulties”, and expressed his gratitude for the completion.

As an important part of Cambodia’s national grid, the Development of Grid Substation and Transmission Line Project in Sihanouk Ville of Cambodia will greatly enhance the stability of power transmission in Sihanoukville, further expand the effective coverage of power in the area, and contribute to promoting local economic and social development, and improving local livelihood. The successful completion of this project is also meaningful to further enhance the company's local appearance and promote the development of subsequent projects.
